Here is a tale of a comic artist getting dragged into the 2000's: Steve Lieber learned via Twitter that his comic book "Underground" had been scanned and posted on 4Chan, so he took a look, and had a nice chat with the group (Nice chat. 4Chan. Let that sink in) who evidently convinced him that maybe hard-copy isn't the only way to release a comic book for a modern audience. So he posted it for free with a link to the sales site. By the end of all this piracy and giveaway, sales of the real comic skyrocketed:
Note the difference between a glowing review from BoingBoing - the old new media website - and the humungous influence of the new new media outlet that is 4Chan. Granted, 4Chan is a lot more than that, but it is certainly a barometer for how the kids these days are getting their information.
